Last night I dreamed I was a guest backstage at some rock concert. People were dressed very provocatively, like punks and anarchists. It was familiar, like i had been guest musician a long time. It felt like my band was playing, some sort of guy. And i was waiting back stage with the young riff raff. We had been all over the world, fighting and hiding our magical powers and going to strange lands. I was startled by a bunch of gen z running around the table while i was trying to relax. Then the magic tamers came and found me. Soon I was running away from a woman in a giant building. She was a magic practitioner. She was being trained by other older magic practitioners. She had blonde hair in a ponytail and a white clinical dress. We ran into each other on the grass at the face of the building. Where 2 edges of the building met in an "L" shape. It was the inner corner of the "L." I had mistress was telling her that now it was for responsibility to find me. She was called away. I used this opportunity to enter the building at the inner corner of the "L." The building was wall-to-wall doors and windows on the outside. So it would be hard to follow me, I thought. I went up to maybe the third floor. I hadn't been here before. It was a bunch of developers who knew nothing about the dangerous game we were playing. I went to the bathroom which was a wall of doors with men on the left and women on the right. Above the men's side was some cupboards. I decided to hide in the cupboards. As I climbed up a supreme sleepiness came over me. I wonder if that's why she hadn't chased after me at the time. If there was some magic or some drug I had been exposed to that would cause me to fall asleep where I am. Or worse, if it tracked me. I used all my strength to pull myself up to the cupboard before I fell asleep. I hoped the developers wouldnt give me away.
Dreams are often a reflection of our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Your dream, which combines elements of performance, escapism, and a fight for identity and safety, indicates several themes that are noteworthy.
Being backstage at a rock concert suggests a desire for self-expression. The familiarity of being a guest musician might point to a longing to connect with a more creative or authentic side of yourself. You might be feeling a pull towards expressing your artistry or individuality in your waking life. The provocative outfits and punk culture that you observed can symbolize rebellion against societal norms, which might mirror feelings you're experiencing in your daily life or aspirations to break free from conventions.
The presence of magical powers alludes to resources or capabilities that you perceive you possess but may be hesitant to fully embrace or share with others. The struggle of "fighting and hiding" these abilities suggests an underlying fear of vulnerability—perhaps you feel pressured to conform or fit within an ordinary framework. The abrupt shift to being pursued by a magic practitioner introduces the idea of being held accountable for your powers. This can represent the conflict between your desire to express these capabilities and the fear of repercussions or the responsibilities that might come with them.
The character who pursues you—a woman in a white clinical dress—could symbolize various aspects of authority or societal expectations, possibly representing a part of yourself that demands order, control, or adherence to rules. The dynamic of being chased indicates anxiety about facing these obligations or fears about being 'discovered' for who you truly are. The fact that she is trained by older practitioners illustrates the weight of tradition or established norms that you may feel pressure to comply with.
The hiding in cupboards speaks to a desire for security and safety. You might feel that the spaces you are in currently are constricting and that you need to retreat and protect yourself. The overwhelming sleepiness you experience while hiding may symbolize exhaustion from the pursuit of external validation or the struggle to merge different aspects of your identity. It can suggest that you’re feeling overwhelmed and need a break to recharge or reevaluate your situation.
The giant building with numerous doors and windows speaks to the complex choices and pathways you face in life. The "L" shape where you hide can symbolize a decision point or crossroads, perhaps indicating that you’re at a pivotal moment where you need to choose a direction in your life—whether to stay within the safe confines of what you know or venture out into the unknown.
Your dream reflects a profound inner dialogue regarding self-identity, creativity, and the balance between societal expectations and the yearning for personal freedom. It encourages reflection on how to integrate your unique magical qualities into your life without fear of judgment or consequence. Consider taking the time to explore your artistic passions, set boundaries against external pressures, and honor your individuality. The dream suggests a need to reclaim your power and define what those magical qualities truly mean for you in your waking life.
